Measuring the Right Metrics for your Business Blog

Finally! I’m able to do a Friday Vlog Post!!! It’s been too long, people. Seriously.

Why, you ask? Because my editing software sucks! Truly. I found a way to circumvent it today, but I still need to find a better solution in order to do this consistently (and that’s the key, right?).

Any-who…today’s topic is about what matters most when you evaluate your blog, particularly those of you who blog for your business. I blog for many reasons. First and foremost, it’s for my business and a way to secure and enhance my brand.  Second, I blog because I enjoy it and especially love the engagement and community that goes along with it.  I must say, I have a pretty awesome community.  Give yourselves a hand.

Which brings me to the point today…do comments equate to success with your blog?  This is in part inspired by Marcus Sheridan’s post on blog comments (take a moment to read it if you haven’t) and his realization that blog comments are not what drives his business or indicate success.

I talk a LOT more about it 🙂 in the video, but suffice it to say, I love comments, but I also don’t use them as a measure of my business goals and success.  They indicate success in engagement for me, but new leads, referrals and clients are what makes my business heart happy!
